Have you moved from Management Leadership to Leadership Management

Management Leadership is when you lead with an attitude of a Manager while Leadership Management is when you manage with an attitude of a Leader. Many schools of thought have tried to create a clear line of distinction between a Leader and a Manager. However in reality, there is a synergy between both but what defines the evolving approach that leads to optimum results in the 21st Century is your ability to slightly tilt the pendulum in either direction without losing cognisance of the other end of the pendulum.
In my personal experience, circumstances within the context of which direction is required will determine how the matrix of Leadership and Management is explored. What helps to achieve the goals and objectives expected will vary depending on what motivates or aligns followership to an expected destination. The practicality of my understanding will be very relevant to Corporate Governance as totally distinct from Public Governance. Reason being the former is guided by corporate ethics while the latter is a followership of extensively liberal masses with diverse characteristics across the globe.
Dependence on authority, inspiring fear, driving employees etc., have conventionally been placed on one side of the divide as the approach to Management Leadership while generating enthusiasm, coaching employees, developing people etc., have conventionally been placed on the other side of the divide as the approach to Leadership Management. Invariably, the result each side of the divide is propagating is that Management Leadership approach will make followership do things because they have to do it while Leadership Management approach will make followership do things because they like to do it.
There are several lines of distinction to zero in on this analogy but Leadership Management will always sits right with me because it is a vehicle of influence that achieves results without losing grip of deliverables within set timelines.
